Gunpowder tea, known as hóngchá in China, is made from tightly rolled, compressed tea leaves that release a rich, smoky, and slightly sweet aroma when steeped. Delivering a tobacco-green, almond-like vegetal note with a clean, fresh finish. The smokiness is balanced, not overpowering, and the tea unfolds to reveal a bright, grassy-green character.
